Don’t you love it when a gem of a Bible verse catches your eye, glinting from the pages of your Bible like a found treasure?
This one caught my eye the other day, and I paused to meditate on it for a bit.
Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. – Psalm 97:11

I imagine that God is the sower, planting seeds of light and gladness in the fields of our lives, that we might harvest them in due time – if we are walking uprightly with him.
I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. – I Chronicles 29:17
At the right time, when we need their sustenance most, God provides us with light in dark times, and gladness in sad times. We may have to invest time and energy in the reaping of them, but joy and gladness will always be available to us through our loving Father.

I had a devotion comment today that really struck home with me. God uses the beauty around us to show his love…and sometime he uses words.

I do love those moments, which is a great thing about simply reading scripture vs. only reading devos and verse-of-the-day subscriptions. 🙂

Amen! Thank you! This was very encouraging and it went right along with another blogger’s post I just read, too. So, thank you for sharing, Meredith!
