Memorize & Meditate: II Timothy 2:15

As we begin a new home-schooling year (with two tenth-graders and a fourth grader!), I wanted to remind myself and my children just why we invest so much time and energy in our classroom each day. This will be their first memory verse of the year.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – II Timothy 2:15

Memorize and Meditate

  1. A key phrase that stuck out to me in this post was the title: Memorize and Meditate. AMEN! As a school teacher, it is so true that memorized facts and information are not learned. I could memorize 2 x 2 = 4, but can I demonstrate my knowledge of this? The same should be primarily said of the Bible and God’s lessons. Sure, most people know what John 3:16 says, for example, but do you really *know* what it means? Amen. This post resonates with me. Check out my blog if you have time – I’d like to get your thoughts! Blessings!
